In 1997 this area was empty land that previous owner rent out farmer for sugar cane as well as cut the tree from forest to make charcoal .The environment at that time was so bad with only small trees left including bamboo tree scattered everywhere . We fenced 40 rai of land asked for cooperation from the villagers to avoid logging but allow to take bamboo shoots to be picked for food. After that, we dig 3 wells to collect rainwater to use during summer and distribute water throughout the area. After 20 years we found that forest has been recover. The best way is that we should refrain from logging and let the forest do the healing itself, that is a concrete testament at Wang Dum Mountain Camp in Tha Muang District. Kanchanaburi

Message from the founder

On the occasion of 10 years Wangdam Mountain Camp , we would like to thank the customers, school , Government and public sector , who visit us and make us lively and energetic to move forward for the next 10 years. We are transforming to ourselves to Social Enterprise and commit being a camp for sustainable ecology for youth and interested parties to reach in the dimension of environmental protection understand benefits of soil, water, wind, electricity and renewable energy systems from the sun , experience living with nature without deforestation as well as being a center bringing knowledge and to increase revenue for community and their families.
